A lot of homeowners dread remodeling projects because they think they can’t be done without a lot of dust and dirt settling throughout the home. According to Jeremy Magill of Sawtooth Remodeling, that doesn’t have to be the case.
“Most people aren’t aware of the protections that we set up before we start work,” Magill says. “Before we cut a single board, we have brown paper on the floor, plastic over the doorways, and seams taped up to minimize disruption to the rest of the home.”
These are steps that Sawtooth Remodeling takes as part of their efforts to allow the homeowner to enjoy the remodeling process. Construction site protections are the step before step one. Sawtooth Remodeling comes with expertise on baseline protections, but they also work with the homeowner to discuss what additional areas may need to be protected, including the best route from outside to the job site—all of which will be covered with appropriate protections to ensure minimal disruption.
“We’re protecting the new work as well as maintaining what already exists," Magill says. "It's important to us to respect the rest of the home, in addition to the job site."
Magill says that one of the best compliments a homeowner can give is that they hardly notice the project once he leaves for the day. The area is left clean and waiting for the next day's work—as it should be.
